Gateway laptop sucks?

Recently bought Gateway laptop. I found price for that configuration to be the best at that time. Very first day, I noticed noisy fan. Called tech. service. He said, laptop has bad heat sink so suggested me to go to store where I purchased and replace it. Next day, I got it replaced. Same problem, fan is noisy. Called technical service on following weekend. Bye the way, Gateway do not have 1-800 number. After spending two weekends talking to tech support, guy said, noisy fan is good and that keeps ur laptop cool. Come on .. Give be break.. I think these people use cheap parts or second quality parts. I know, when the premium quality laptops are built then some parts are thrown out b'cos of not passing QA and those parts are used instead of recycling them. I think, performance of the laptop is also not that great. I want to know, is there any performance test that customer can run to test to see it meets the speed. Is there any way, customers can file, class action lawsuit.

  1. Did you do any research before you purchased? If it was so noisy, why didn't you return it? There are many very good brands of laptops - with good support. No class action lawsuit is needed or called for - you get what you pay for.
