I bought an hp dv2700 and it's grainy?

I have an HP desktop and the display is very bright and clear. I received my HP Pavilion dv2700 today.. and everything is great except the display. When I am on Word the blank screen looks almost grey! This is a big part of the reason I decided NOT to buy a tablet, yet this notebook is doing the same thing. Could this just be a faulty display? Does anyone else own this computer and have this problem? Thanks!

Could be faulty display, graphics card, or driver issue. I'd check that you have the appropriate driver installed first. If that doesn't work you'll need to contact HP for support, which from my past experience with them should be TONS of fun.
Hello, Might there be some defect in it, call to HP or chat to them online (serch - live chat on hp.com) and chat to them in this regard they will solve ur issue. friendly Charan Reddy Hyderabad, India
it could be the power saving setting on the Lappy causing your problem ... make sure the screen is turned up to full brightness ("Fn" key and "F6" or one of the "direction" arrows) could be the contrast settings .... find a retailer with the same model and have a look at their display model ... if it's "grainy" as well ... might be the way things are?
