Is it safe to reuse a wireless PCI card from a computer who's power supply died?
Several years ago, I had a computer (ATX form factor, Windows xp) that had a power supply failure. Rather than replace the power supply to see if the other components still worked, I let it sit in a closet. Now I have another desktop computer that I would like to upgrade with cannibalized parts from the old computer. Is this safe? Does a power supply failure fry all of the other components within a computer? I would like to use a PCI wireless linksys card from the dead comp.

- Power supply failure is far more common in computers. Generally it does not affect other parts, but may. If you plan to cannabilize parts from an old computer to a new one you may have compatibility issues, older architecture and technology vs new stuff. Replace the power supply in the old machine and have two computers!
- you should be fine, when you put in in and it works then OK if not Just buy a newer one
- It should be fine, plug it in and give it a go !!
