I have a gateway laptop and need help with my wifi connection?

I have a gateway laptop (system model MT3707) with Vista Home Premium. I don't have a problem connecting to my router but if i lose the connection it wont connect to any wifi in the area for about 10 to 30 minutes unless i restart. Any ideas on what i should do?

1. try defragin your laptop by going into the control panel form the start menu and do that. let it sit and defrag. mine did the same thing and that worked for me best of luck man
2. is your modem adsl (phone-line) if so, disable the voice mailing service on your house phone cuz they can twist the lines when the service scans for mail
