Gateway Parts

is it possible to put some/all parts of a desktop replacement in a desktop?

i bought a broken laptop off my friend(only lcd screen and chassis are broken) the internal parts still wrk though and actually i can still use it when its hooked up to an external monitor. its a gateway fx desktop replacement gaming pc. could i possibly disassemble the desktop replacement and buy a desktop chassis and put the parts in there? or at least some f the parts like video card, etc?

1. Laptop/Desktop replacement comps arent gonna be very PC-friendly. They have different sizes etc. I'd say not to do it, unless you have time and money to fiddle.
