(Gateway solo 2550)i plug the pwer cord to laptop and cp says that it is charging in bottom left corner,it?

doesn't last long if running on battery alone,when i unplug power cord from laptop,the light on charger stays lit up green,is this normal,im guessing i need a new battery.....all help is appreciated.

1. Its called "power back" and it says that alot, dont worry the batteries fine dont waste your money, once again depending on the model, Power back is just little power flow from the imput chord to the laptop... in english, "Theres still energy in the charging unit, it should go away eventually."
2. You're guessing right. The light on the charger is probably just indicating that it has power.
