Gateway Parts

Is my laptop compatible with The Sims 2?

I have a Gateway T-6836 and I was thinking about buying The Sims 2. I tried to compare the laptop's specs with the system requirements for playing the game, but that just confused me because I don't understand what it all means. So does my laptop meet the requirements? If not, what problems might the game have if it still is able to play? Here are my laptop's specifications: http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/gateway-t-6836/4507-3121_7-33088556.html?tag=mncol;rnav

  1. yes i have the same laptop it works fine
  2. i've checked the specs and your laptop is not for gaming purpose.suitable for word processing or internet surfing only.Sims 2 might freeze/locks up in Create-A-Sim(CAS) and while loading to Neighborhood because your laptop comes with Intel 965 integrated chip, meaning you don't have real graphics card like any normal gaming computer to play Sims 2.many people don't know this but Sims game is high requirement game.your RAM,4GB is more than enough but your processor should get higher than T5750.you can install the game but turn your graphics setting low. this is full requirements for playing all Sims 2 game.pay attention to Intel integrated chip in the table. http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:System_Requirements/MTS2_Recommendations
