How good "Gateway" Laptops are?

I have read very good reviews, but also seen website where people were just slamming them with many aspects (tech sport, crashing, HD failure, some others), but it was not clear which Gateway Laptops or PCs... Does anyone have a Gateway MD series laptop? How is it? Thanks alot for sharing.

1. Gateway laptops have pretty much the same components as any other make of latptop (intel, AMD, ATI, Seagate, etc...) so the parts are the same as any other laptop you get. As for customer support, I am not sure anywhere is good. Dont be fooled by the Dell commercials saying there support is good, it is actually the worst I have come across (in my opinion).
2. You better go for Toshiba or Dell or HP.
3. I bought a Gateway MD2614U notebook and have been highly pleased with it. To give you an idea, I can "now" open Adobe Photoshop CS2 in less than 15 seconds. If you are thinking of buying a Gateway MD notebook, I'd recommend buying a refurbished. Check out tigerdirect.com/compusa.com
