What should I look for when buying a new computer?
I'm getting a replacement laptop and wanted to know what I should look out for. I was looking at a new Toshiba with 4gb RAM and 160gb hard drive. Is this good? What other specs are important to look at? Also, I was always under the impression that Tobshiba made cheasy products, is this just a false rumor and is this a good laptop? Here is a link to my old laptop http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/gateway-ml6720/4507-3121_7-32743759.html?tag=mncol;psum Here is a link to the possible new laptop http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9300428&type=product&id=1218079752923 Is there anything crucial that I'll be sacrificing in this new laptop? Thanks

- No. It's a really good laptop at a pretty decent price. You're really not missing anything unless you're some "specific" sorta computer user.
- Overall thats a pretty decent laptop uve chosen. Remember when u buy a laptop the main spec to look for is the processor speed as its a main compenent that u cant replace, unlike ram, hard drive, u can always extend these specs. Are you going to be using this for gaming because the graphics card wont be able to cope with high spec games, if not then the one with it will do perfectly fine playing dvd and movies. Hope this helps.
- the processor on that laptop is fantastic. If you are in the UK, then a fantastic laptop to buy is the Fujitsu AMILO Li3910. its got a 18.4" screen, and is really good. Toshiba do make very good laptops. If you don't like it though, you can always return it providing they do have a return policy. It also depends what you're using it for. If your using it for gaming, then think about 3 main things: 1) Screen Size (the bigger the better) 2) Processor (make sure it's a fast processor (around 2.2GHz) and dual-core) 3) RAM (4GB is about average on a laptop) If you're using it for anything else, then the Processor, and aesthetic values of it are most important. also, if you do lots of travelling, make sure its light to transport.
- hi rockstar..., tosheba is right up there at the top according to consumer report magazines i thought that dell would rank number one but they were four on the list, surprize! but you would never guess what number one in laptops are and i was really and that was hp was number one. now please understand to play video games is strictly taboo the reason is that gaming radiates too much heat and you run your battery down. but i have to give you a thumbs up on your purchase. i do not own one but i do a lot of reading and as i say your choice was second on the list but they were judging on dependablity and wear and tear under long use. so good luck on your purchace and i hope i was helpful to you
- I THINK U SHOULD GET A MACBOOK ALUMINUM NOBODY EVER USES MORE THEN 20% PERCENT OF THEIR CPU AND 2 GB OF RAM IS GOOD BUT IF U GET THE 4 GB OF RAM THAT WILL BE FASTER THAN ANY OTHER PC U CAN GET I AM NOT ANSWERING UR QUESTION BUT I AM GIVING U A SOULOUTION I HAVE MOR THAN 5 OF THOSE
