Gateway Parts

I am going to get a laptop and I want to know if the Gateway is a good one?

I want a new laptop and this will be my first one, so I want to get a good, new one with a cheap price. I was looking on BestBuy.com and I saw the Gateway, under the price I need. Is this laptop a good one or not?

2. in my opinion, gateways are really bad. to be honest, there is no "good cheap laptop" because the cheaper the price, the worse the performance, the worse the parts. the saying "you get what you pay for" holds true for laptops and most computer equipment. sorry that i dont have the "right" answer for you, but my experience with computers and laptops, you just cant get a good one for a low price. (network engineer at an IT company) if anything, go with dell or hp for a cheaper laptop, they at least have better customer service than gateway if/when something goes wrong. when i say better, it is loosley put. but ive had to deal with gateway before and they are horrible in my opinion.
3. It's okay and they are usually at a very good price. The top three brands that I recommend to my clients are: HP Dell Toshiba However, there are pretty much similar inside. It's all in the support of the hardware that I recommend the three, but Gateway, Acer, etc have similar guts and are decent laptops.
