Gateway Laptop System restore problems?!?!?

Alright; I had my computer's hard drive replaced by best buy but when I got it back and needed to reinstall my OS; the disk was corrupt. So I bought restore DVDs that are supposed to restore my operating system, applications, and drivers. (Bought from Gateway through the recovery media purchase program) However when I put the first DVD in it loads up to a screen that has a blank window labeled "Dialogue" and in the background it says "GATEWAY please wait..." SO I sent my computer back to best buy and they replaced the harddrive again(this time I was in a different state so its not the same bestbuy) I also bought another restore DVD set and the same problem occured. Can I get help please? the P/N for the disk is 7520965R My computer is a Gateway P-6860 FX IF you need any more information email me at 1337.etoile@gmail.com My DVD drive has also been replaced; and I have installed linux on it though I uninstalled it so I could use up all of my hard drive space for windows vista. The entire laptop has been taken apart and looked at by geek squad and all damaged parts were replaced The CD/DVD drive is set to boot first; I have removed everything from the boot list except the HDD and the CD/DVD drive

  1. i would make sure that the dick you bought id for the right model of laptop. if so and still doesnt work, i would just find a copy of the operating system you want to use. sounds like the recovery disk aint happening. if you know someone with a copy of windows xp or vista just to try it out to see if it works, if it does then purchase one for yourself cuz you can always restore and format the hard drivve partition if need be.
