Are there other computer screens compatible with gateway computers?
We have a gateway screen that quit working and i went to find a new one for my mom to order and started reading the reviews and they are bad so we have decided to try to get a computer screen from a different company. So I am curious if there are other brands that we could use or are we stuck with Gateway?

- As long as the monitor you are buying has the same video port as your Gateway computer, it will work. So if your Gateway has say a 15-pin D-shaped VGA connector, it will work with any monitor that uses that connector.
- You can use any brand you want, just as long as it has a compatible connection. Such as, I'm guessing you have VGA, but there's also DVI too. Just look on the back of your computer and see what kind of connection it has: This picture explains it all: http://www.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/athome/images/moredone/dualmonitor_02.jpg although don't worry if you have a S-Video on yours, or if you just have one of the connections shown. Anyway, VGA is the (old/regular) analog connection and DVI is the newest digital standard. If you just have one or the other, be sure you get a monitor that will support what you have - VGA or DVI. Hope this helps! P. S. Even though VGA is older, you'll still have about the same quality as DVI. DVI is just slightly better is all.
