On a Gateway laptop, how do you save a video from the built in webcam to a file?

I am trying to make a video for YouTube and I have a Gateway laptop. I cant seem to save the video I am making to a file so that I can post it on YouTube. How do i do it?

1. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista, choose the Microsoft Movie Maker program, which comes with both operating systems. Otherwise, use Youtube's built-in webcam upload function.
