Gateway Parts

Why will my Gateway Laptop not read any cds or dvds or anything i put in it?

I have a GATEWAY laptop M-1628 and I have tryed everything I could think of to get it to work and it just doesnt seem to want to work. I have deleted the filters and uninstalled the driver. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

1. HHMMM a new reader and writer sounds good. Just for the hell of it check your power supply and cables to make sure they are installed right and are tight.
