which of these two gateway laptops are faster?

i am just going to be using for a lot of music, movies, and entertainment. Laptops > Intel Based Laptops > Centrino Duo Mobile Gateway M-6750 Refurbished Notebook PC - Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz, 802.11n Wireless, 3GB DDR2, 250GB HDD, DL DVDRW, 15.4" WXGA, Integrated Webcam, Windows Vista Home Premium or Gateway T-1625 Refurbished Notebook PC - AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile TL-60 2.0GHz, 802.11g Wireless, 2GB DDR2, 250GB HDD, DL DVDRW, 14.1" WXGA, Webcam, Windows Vista Home Premium the first computer has 2mb cache and the second one has 1mb cache thank you all for your help! would it be smart to remove vista and add xp? would it make it faster? oh and btw if u like these laptops here is the site that you can get them, along with hundreds of other computers! www.tigerdirect.com

1. Vista is a memory hog, and in my experience refurbished computers have been slower for no reason, so my vote is for the first one.

To be honest the thing that matters about the processor is the speed and that is the 1.66 GHz and 2.0GHz so the second one is faster Also look at the 3GB DDR2 and 2GB DDR2, because the more of the ram you have got the faster your laptop will be but this is usually expandable unless this has already been done The cache is the memory in the CPU which is faster to acess that the RAM but if you have enough ram (1gb or above) you should'nt notice the difference So overall the 1st one is faster and i would also stick with intel - they are usually pretty good. Xp would be a bit faster but not much - Vista will run well on anyone of those laptops, personally i would keep vista on keep up to date and don't listen to people who say it is rubbish because after a while you will get used to it.
3. 1 first it has 3gb of ram the 2nd only has 2 so the 1 one is faster
4. the better of the two as got to be the first one.. if only for one thing.. The .802.11n Wireless, that is the new wireless system
5. The second one is faster since it has 2.0 ghz and the the first one only has 1.66ghz
6. the 1st one. more memory, better processor, better wireless card.

8. The second one is faster in the processor speed. But that really isn't a good judge of over all speed. Out of these two I probably would choose the first computer. Over all probably better. And it has a bigger screen!
9. i would go with the first one because even though its 1.66ghz its intel!! much better than AMD so go for that
10. ist one is far better than second one The first has a better processor because it's dual core , the ram too is greater display size is better and even the wireless card too. The first has a greater cahe too. one suggestion just upgrade Vista Home premium to ultimate or business bcoz it is far better
11. The second one will run faster and smoother. AMD processors are much better then Intel because of the load they are able to handle consistently. The RAM has a factor in the scheme of speed but with AMD you wont notice as much lag. The only bad part of the second one is the screen size. if they are similar in price I would unfortunately say go with the first one because of sheer screen size.
