  1. I have toshiba and love it. My children watch dvds in it, I play games, write my novels and do my homework for college on it. I have a lot of memory and space. it all depends on what you get in it.
  2. Toshiba makes the best laptops on the market, IMO. Gateways are built cheap to be priced cheap. You'll be happier with the Toshiba.
  3. toshiba is a global brand gateway is a local brand > that should tell u bout brand coverage & sales too ! toshiba machines work dunno much about gateway, but from reviews & articles i'd stsy away from gateway if u can spell application & budget, maybe i can suggest ...
  4. I would not buy a Gateway. I have owned two. The second one I had to return to the store because it did not work at all, and they would not replace it. They even charged me a penalty fee for returning a computer that never worked at all. Gateway also was blacklisted by the university that I worked for, because of their practices.
  5. My last 2 Toshibas both died 14 months after purpose, 2 months outside of the warrenty period. Total failure. No warnings, no problems the day before, just one day didn't start up ever again. I know of many people who have had nothing but problems with their Toshibas. (Interestingly enough, older Tecras were rock solid machines) I know many people still rocking the same Gateway laptops for several years now, including constant traveling and abuse. Nowadays, I don't trust any laptops besides Dell or IBM/Lenovo.
  6. I own 2 Toshiba notebooks. One is over 2 years old and still holding strong! For the money, Toshiba is better than Gateway, but if you're looking for serious gaming performance, check out the Dell XPS series....
  7. Out of those 2, which are both poor quality...not to be mean...so dont get mad people.... but I would say the gateway by a hair. I have worked on alot of toshiba laptops that develop alot of problems. Gateway has it's share of problems too. If your in the market for a new laptop I would reccomend a Dell or a MAC. Good luck. :)
