- You will prob be better off geting a new laptop than updating it, if its even possible. Most laptops like 99.999999999% dont have anyway to change a motherboard out.
- There is absolutely no way you can upgrade an old laptop like yours to a newer processor. It would require a new motherboard and processor and no one makes universal motherboards for laptops that fit into a variety of cases. You need to sell that laptop (if you can find someone who will purchase a P3 unit) and purchase a new or slightly used Core2dual system.
- Um, motherboard? The socket is different, you'll have to find a motherboard for your model laptop, with a P2CD socket, and, no, you can't just cut pins off. And you may need better cooling for the chip, I'd look into that.
