Solution for lag in old laptop?

I have an old Presario 2500 Compaq laptop(which its sides or the part with the cd-rom are not thin and its heavy to carry unlike notebook laptops) and im using a local internet connection(PDLT) that goes i think 100 mbps. the problem is, when i will play facebook applications such as restaurant city and other stuffs that is for games, it is too slow to move! the characters are very slow to move! especially in restaurant city in facebook! what will i do so that i will not experience lags anymore? p.s. if u require me to buy a new laptop, i cant afford it, so please, find me an alternative to make my laptop move faster without any costs in the internet. :D Uhm , hard drive? like the thing that is located under a laptop? i dont know man, sorry. but i have a total of 37.2 GB and 19.9 GB are used, so 17.3 are free in Local Disk C. Uhm, ok! Thanks! So what will i do or tell to the guys who will install it in a electronic shop? What should i tell them? Should i tell them that i will need to "to add more hard drive into my laptop with this PQI 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Laptop Memory Model MD421GUOE" right? thanks for the help btw.

  1. I'm guessing your using XP, So go to START/All Programs/ Accesseries/System tools. There run "Disk Cleanup" and "Disk Defraggmenter " It will take a little time but I'm sure you will see a difference, I'll be checking up on this question so answer me how much harddrive space do you have left? SORRY FOR DELAY: You tell them if they could kindly install the RAM into your computer, they will and your computer will be as good as new.
  2. If you have the basic 2500, the weakest part of that laptop is its outdated 32MB integrated graphics; and next would be its small RAM of 256MB or less. Increasing RAM may upgrade the laptop's performance but not 3D acceleration in games. Playing at lower resolution and 16bit color instead of 32bit may improve things somehow. The better performer is the Presario 2500 that comes with a 128MB Mobility Radeon ATI 9600 graphics card.
