Did my power supply damaged any other parts of my computer? PART 2?

Guys i installed a new power supply and the moment i turned on the switch of the power supply i witnessed cracking sound and huge sparks coming out of the power supply. Power was connected to all hardware components. Now i am sitting in smoke. Tell me what went wrong. I checked all connections. They seem right.

  1. Sounds like you either have a short somewhere in the computer, or the plug/cord you used is damaged. If you have it connected into a surge protector, I would check that out as well. To verify this, plus something else into that, and see if it pops smoke. If that doesn't work, meaning, it doesn't damage anything else then try another power supply, you might be able to take the new one in and get a replacement. You could say it didn't work. Then, when you get the new power supply. Plug it into the wall, without anything else plugged into it. Then, unplug it from the wall, and plug in one device at a time. You could still pop the power supply, but you might be able to trade that in as well, but you would know what device is causing it. Like Blade said, check the 110 and 220 switch. make sure its set for what voltage you have in your house.
  2. On the back of your computer or somewhere by the Power Supply (It should be outside the tower) there's like this pink switch which says 15 and 20..(I think) switch that around, that might be it.
  3. PSU's have a safety in them. any new PSU will not harm anything in the computer if it goes out
