Anyone know how to make audio play from a laptop to a tv using HDMI? I have a gateway M1625 series laptop...?

1. Could be two answers to this problem I have the ordinary pc version of the graphics card in this type of laptop. When I have plugged in the tv and changed to the hdmi input the audio will only change to the hdmi output (tv speakers) when a program has been started afterwards not before. The other possibility is that the driver hasn't been installed correctly to check this open device manager in control panel and expand the audio section if there are any yellow triangles or question marks i would go to the manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers once this has been installed follow the process in the first part of my answer and you should be getting sound Hope this helps.
