How can I get my cds that came with my gateway laptop?

I lost all my cds that came with my laptop and in order to get my computer working again i need to get my windows vista start-up disc. i contacted gateway and because my laptop was not under warranty they were not will to help me. any ideas on what i can do to get these cds back?

1. If you had vista on it you should have created the restore disk during first time startup. You should call the tech support of Gateway and ask for recovery disk. Gateway can give you the recovery disk if your laptop purchased after March 2006. So call them and get the disk by telling your laptop serial number. If they don't give you then you may have to buy the Windows 7 upgrade, you may recover the files if you had Vista.
