My Fn button appears to be functional, as the wireless connection indicator light is lit - but I can only access the Internet hard-wired. Can there be a simple solution to this problem? Is there an easily replaced part such as one that came up during a gateway.com search that came up with a PDF manual that has a section called Replacing the Wireless Network Module. I have limited technical understanding of computers, but am quite comfortable with the Removal and Replacement of parts, as I am mechanically capable of such tasks. There is another laptop in the house that can access the internet wireless, so the problem is not with the router. Please help me. Hello David and Thank you for your input. My Wireless icon lights up when I hold and press the Fn & F2 keys and likewise is unlit when repeated. My wife's laptop has wireless connection so this all indicates a faulty Wireless Card of sorts within my laptop because all seems to be in working order, but my wireless connection. Gateway wants to charge about $1 per minute for phone support for this out of warrantee laptop. For about $25, I can get a new card that seemingly installs rather easy. Your thoughts from here would be helpful and appreciated. Of course, that goes for any one else who can elaborate on my circumstance. I would even appreciate anyones advice on where to purchase such new parts at the best prices.
