Are Gateway Computers just as good as any other?

I need a real fast system for Video & Audio capture & Editing - please tell me what CPU & Graphics card I need (i plan to use Sony Vegas) Thanks so much!

1. Hi how much can you afford...an eight core processor from intel and how about 16GB Ram and how about a 8GB graphics card lets say about 7000 pounds.
