what parts to keep from a 4 year old gateway desktop?

my family is throwing away their 4 year old gateway desktop. the motherboard is fried and we are keeping the hard drive. is there anything else we should keep? like fan memory anything? thanks

1. It might be worth it to keep the ram, but it is hard to say, because I don't know what kind, and how fast it is.
2. Keep the monitor, maybe the tower shell, RAM, and fans if you need them.
3. HDD would be only thing that you can use else.. it would be tough to find a compatibility for any thing else
