  1. Seems pretty good. But if you wanna get a laptop for gaming, get one with more RAM
  2. That's fine for web browsing, homework and older games. It borrows memory from your RAM if needed for video, and with 3 GB, you've got enough to spare for your usage needs. It'll choke on modern 3D games, but it doesn't sound like that's a major problem for you.
  3. Some 'old' games might play on this. But the bottleneck as you mentioned will be the graphics card. But at 1.2GHz (unless you meant 2.2 and typed 1.2), the processor will also be a bottleneck.
  4. Well I'm not sure what your budge is.. but if its close to $1000, then I'd suggest this.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146613 If you just want to play some old games then what you wrote would do.. Also I too hope that 1.2Ghz is a typo, or you plan to get a Quad code processor... Ok.. edit: Did some research.. seems you are an Aussie, checked asus.com.au, the Acer AS5517-1208 (LX.PH102.004) PC Notebook is NOT listed there, that would indicate that Asus Autralia os probably planning to or has already phased the laptops out. Folks the 1.2 GHz is NOT a typo, & its NOT a Netbook either... the system comes for abt $500, but I'd say buy something else.. a lot f good laptops would come in at that kinda money...
