How do I run my Gateway Solo 5300 laptop with a 384 MB ram in safe mode. I am using Windows XP give details.?

When do someone run in save mode? and why it is important to do so? Thanks!

1. Safe mode is a diagnostic tool. Only the generic drivers needed to run the computer will load. It is used to remove programs or drivers, that maybe causing problems. You will have no sound and your video resolution will be very low. It it not intended for normal operation.
