Does Gateway make quality laptops that will last?

I was thinking about buying a Gateway laptop off of HSN ....(http://electronics.hsn.com/gateway-17-3-dual-core-4gb-ram-250gb-hdd-platinum-shield_m-10048978_xp.aspx)... what is your opinion?

2. I've heard from a lot of people who have owned Gateways that they're generally pretty low quality, and thus don't last long. If you want to buy a new laptop after a year and a half, go ahead and get a Gateway, but if I were you I'd go with something else. Maybe a Dell or an HP.
