gateway laptop?

i have seen a gateway laptop at tesco for about £300 . it has a 14.1" screen. 1.8ghz. 60gb hard drive .512 memory gforce go6100 graphics card. does any body know anything about gateway laptops.have they had any real bad probs. i only want it for doing the basics .as i have a pc upstiars in the house . any info would be grateful thanx

1. They're a US brand I think. They were extremely popular about 10 years ago, one of the best PC makers, apparently. Just had a look at the one you said, looks OK, vista home basic? I suppose if you just want basic things. All in all £300... go for it
2. Honestly buy a real laptop. Gateway is junk.
