Gateway M Series Laptop won't boot past the Gateway Icon?
I have a Gateway M Series Laptop (unsure of exact model) and just the other day it failed to shut down properly, so i held the power button and it cut off. When i power it back on, the Gateway Icon comes on with the F-2 or F-10 options at the bottom, and it just sits at the Microsoft screen with the scrolling yellow bars. What could the problem possibly be?

- try booting in safe mode then manually start your anti virus once that is done start your anti spy ware ,when the is complete restart your computer should be ok
- You probably have a virus. I had the same problem with my desktop and I had to install a restore disk. This can be ordered from: https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachine It is a Gateway sight and the cost of the disk was 20 dollars. This will erase everything on your computer and will restore it back to factory configuration. I got a virus about 4 months ago and this is all that I could do. It was about 100 dollars cheaper than taking it to a computer repair shop.
