what happens if i improperly shut down my vista gateway laptop?
i want to know the risks, it is an M series laptop made in mid to late 2007, sometimes it isnt properly shut down cause im angry sometimes its cause of a power failure, see, i unplug my battery when its plugged into the wall at home so i can conserve battery life and it seems to work, i would say on average i have about 3 disruptive shutdowns in a period of 10 days. and when my laptop was getting repaired i noticed 2 disruptive shutdowns. so on that basis alone i assume it wont do much damage answe number 11 reminded me to ask where the hard disk is located cause sometimes i punch the left side of my laptop and i think the screen goes white for a millisecond

- Nothing.
- All of your files will be deleted
- Nothing, just dont make a habit of it.
- It's totally FUKCED now
- Its more of a Windows problem than anything. Physically the PC will be fine, just make sure Windows closes like it should.
- hit control alt delete go to task manager shut down locked up programs then normally shut it down
- I do it to mine all the time. i have a T series. Vista won't let you do a lot of damage to the OS. It will be fine. run scan disc & defrag on it every 2 weeks. Oh yeah, get a registry cleaner. Computer will run like new all the time. I have had mine for a year and a half, and it runs like the first day I brought it home.
- As long as there are not any important programs open, like something you want to save or possibly installations then it should be fine. I barely ever click the Shut Down button, once again as long as I have nothing important open
- u start to loose your file and your powerstate will start working improperly which will cause the chip to start acting up and the u'll just get a screen with white and black textures or no power... try not to get mad.. www.bshox.com
- No actual "damage" is likely to occur, but you will fragment your memory a lot faster that way - it's a good thing to defrag after such things happen!!
- nothing but if you continue doing that their could be a huge malfunction on your laptop
- it could damage some files.
