I have an old Gateway laptop, and it wont load Windows, possible hard drive?
If I wait long enough it will get to the Windows loading screen, for the most part, it gets past the Gateway intro screen and stays there, almost like the hard drive isnt booting. Is it a hard drive issue?

- Probably an operating system issue if you have a windows disk or whatever disk you use just put it in when starting up and restore to factory defaults. If you have important stuff on there and it is so important you might want to consider bringing it in to a computer expert
- I believe is not what you mentioned about the HDD. Try this, it always works for me when the system won't do a fast booting. Remove the battery Disconnect the power cord Press and hold the power button for 20 secs. Insert your battery Reconnect the power cord and turn the laptop back on.
- From this much information, it is hard to make a specific diagnosis...but, yes, the hard drive is often a prime suspect if windows will not load. It could be as simple as a power or ribbon cable connection to the drive. To be fair, you need to understand that you could have RAM (memory) that are nor seated properly or any of a few other things. If you are hearing a clicking sound on an attempted boot, or see any messages on boot up, your local PC repair team will have an easier time of identifying the exact problem. Hope this helps!
