Will a computer game downloaded online (legally) work better then the same game on a CD?

i ask this because there is a discount for KOTOR download on dircet2drive.com. i had the game on xbox, then my 360 broke. then i had it on cd as a part of the Starwars best of pc pack which i got from a friend, and it lagged horribly to the point where i couldn't get the very first mission started. so, will this download work better with the disk or should i not waste my money. (i am not asking for opions about the game, even though they will all probably good, i just want to know if it will work better)

2. i would say they would probably work the same. but it some people do tend to lose the cd and some people forget passwords and things like that to download the game. so it is really just up to you and what you feel more comfertable with
