  2. No You have to have DDR3 ram for any of the motherboards that accept the i3 processor. The motherboard for the i3 is the LGA1166 socket motherboards and they are all DDR3 ram... Other than that, yes it is all good. I would extend my budget a little and get a better performing graphics card, such as a 5770, unless you are going to buy 2 5670's for crossfire. I might add, that i3 processor is twice the performer of the e8600 core2duo processors... So very good choice there...
