Gateway Parts

Does dell use proprietary parts on any desktops anymore? Specifically the Studio Desktop?

I'm gonna buy a new dell studio desktop, then upgrade the Graphics card, but i will have to upgrade the PSU first. This obviously will not work if dell still uses proprietary parts on the computer. Anyone know if they do? or the Vostro desktops sorry, scratch the Vostro :D i dont care about proprietary fans, just motherboards and PSUs etc the main stuff.

1. dont know about laptops, but they still use proprietary parts in their desktops... damn 90 millimeter fans!!
2. They won't have anything you can't find. Especially if it's just the power supply and graphics card. The motherboards are pretty much universal and use most of the same connections. You should be fine.
3. If you are planning upgrades, I would not suggest a dell. Their parts are special.
