Gateway Parts

Computer Parts - how valuable are they?

I have a brand new FDD Cable complete with DELL part number I don't know what this is, but it says Gold Card - Multi-Function PC Card - GSM & ISDN Upgradeable 56K+Fax Still in box with manual and CD Another Gold card in a plastic case without the manual and such An Intel Processor chip that says Intel i486 DX in protective plastic And 128MB stick of what I am told is Laptop RAM for Dell - It says 128MB. SYNCH,100MHz, CL2 I'm a desktop computer person so I have no idea what this stuff might be worth to a laptop savy person - can someone give me some ball-parks? I understand that saren, but I am looking to sell these items and I want to be able to ask a fair price for them without getting taken to the cleaners by someone who knows their worth. Thanks for the ballparks - just remember that one man's junk is another man's treasure. - I hope!!

  1. Computer industry is not as value as computer retail, so they will be less valuable once they are seperated
  2. While I can tell you want to ask for them, I can tell you that these are somewhat old. You may be able to get $25.00 to $35.00 for all. I would put them on Craigslist as a group and "Make Me an Offer" If you can not get any takers, give them to Goodwill. At least you can take a Tax Write Off. The Old Computer Guy
  3. In my part of the world, we cannot give away a system less than Pentium4 and must be complete with a working monitor, keyboard and mouse... In other words...what you describe are old parts.... i486 is quite old... and the RAM 128MB is old 56K+Fax is a very slow way to connect to the Internet.... I had to use one and had a hard time finding a 56K modem when my internet connection was pulled in error by my service provider (on strike at the time) Someone in Future Shop just looked at me and said...we do not sell those anymore..... I wanted to smack this hotshot as he had no idea why I needed one - just too anxious to tell me how antiquated this modem was. I found one in Staples next door and I am keeping it in case.... so that you might be able to sell but not for much...maybe $20 max? Sorry, you have junk....
