Why did my hard drive shrink in capacity?
I bought a gateway M-series laptop last year with 250gb hard drive. everybody knows its not actually "250" but it was 230gb. up until a few months ago, my hard drive only has 111gb. i have C: 1.80gb free off 111gb and Local Disk D: 111gb free of 111gb i do not have enough space and its extremely frustrating.

- Could be any number of things... But 111gb isn't enough to work with? Huh, I've had machines with <30gb available and they work just fine. Check your internet temporary files settings. Maybe the setting is such that it'll use up whatever it needs and not delete after a while? Set it to use no more than 200mb and to expire/delete files after a month. Manually delete the entries for now. Your temporary folder may have a ton of junk in it. Have a look at c:\windows\temp and see what's there. Have you downloaded any software and not deleted it? Installing software often creates temporary folders and somethings those folders aren't deleted after the install. Check for this.
