Are toshiba laptops reliable? What about gateway laptops?
I'm looking into getting one of the 17" models- I don't know what brand is more reliable any suggestions?

- I personally have a toshiba laptop since 2006 and it's been pretty reliable though I did have to replace the screen cause the LCD light went out but other then that's it's been treating me good. I couldn't personally tell you about other ones though.
- I got a toshiba, I like it . Good Luck...
- I have heard good things about Toshiba laptop from others. I have a samsung r610v and hate the thing personally! It depends mostly on price in uk terms £250-£300 buys you a good netbook - the A5 sized laptops by ASUS etc. £500 buys you a fairly good mid-range laptop. £750 + buys you a high quality laptop. £1000 + buys you a top of the range laptop. I'd assume these prices could be transferred into your local currency and would still apply. If you want ultimate in reliability, buy a Panasonic toughbook!
