I have a Gateway Solo 5300 laptop and I am seeing Microsoft Windows Recovery Console on the screen in startup.?
I always sees on the screen when I am booting up [ Microsoft Windows Recovery Console] and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. I selected the latter as I always do. But I am interesting to know what the recovery console is and what it is used for, and when can I use it if needed. Give me in details as brief as possible.

- The Windows Recovery Console is used when you have an issue that cannot be solved from within Windows... for example, if your install of Windows is hitting a BSOD crash (Blue Screen of Death) and you need to run ChkDsk to repair any corruption, you could do it from the recovery console. end of line
