Gateway Parts

What's your experience with Gateway laptops?

Just bought an i3 processor Gateway Laptop ID59C, and was just wondering if the brand is really shoddy, because i got it for $600. I'm not using it for gaming, well maybe a little dotA here and there, but most of it is for University. Thanks!

1. Gateway is one of the best (though under-appreciated) brands of computer out there. They are also the same makers of Acer & Emachines I work on computers for a living and would trust a Gateway over a Dell or Toshiba any day of the week
2. Gateway is crap. as is dell (except alien ware), acer, all mini's. My favorite is HP they are designing something called a memristor, look it up, they are cutting edge and don't come with a lot of programs that pop up at the start. Toshiba is good to
3. FACT: Gateway are manufactured from inferior parts, from abroad, they are prone to problems on an ongoing basis, if you doubt this check out the net ratings for this machine, so many users have complained, some (althoug not many have been lucky), so sorry, but this is a fact.
