Ok. I could either get a Gateway NV5936u for $600, or I could get a Sony Vaio E VPCEB11FX laptop. They both have the same exact specs, but the Sony costs $700. I know Sony is much more reliable than Gateway (which is owned by Acer), but is it worth the extra $100? My budget was $650 max, but if it's really worth it I'll pay the extra $50. If it's not, then I have one more question. I'm also looking at an Asus U50F RBBAG05 ($600). Same specs as the other two, but Asus is apparently more reliable than Gateway. The only problem is, according to almost every customer review of it, every time you wake it up from sleep it sets the date 3-4 days ahead. I would be putting it to sleep a lot. Will it create problems? I wouldn't use the laptop to find out the date, but apparently it can create problems with the internet, but I'm not sure. Note: Don't say "oh well all laptop brands are the same, it's just people misuse them." Here's some data on the failure rates of different laptops: http://www.ditii.com/2009/11/18/asus-and-toshiba-most-reliable-laptop-brands-dell-and-hp-worst/ (I don't know why it says Dell is the worst at the top, because according to the graph it isn't.)
