I always run a full scan on my laptop Solo 5300 Gateway with Windows XP off line. Is the result would be the?

Which is better to run a full scan of your computer, do it whilst online or offline, or it does not matter the result would be the same? Give me your experiences and suggestions.

1. Does not matter as the result(s) will be the same. My Internet security scans automatically in the back ground no matter if online or off line.
