Which of these laptops is the best choice?
So im planning to buy a laptop on black friday and ive come across some that caught my eye. Acer 10.1 notebook with 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, and Windows XP- $179.99 http://www.target.com/ACER-ASPIRE-NETBOOK-AOD255-2331/dp/B0041DZTV2/ eMachines 15.6" Laptop PC with Intel Celeron 900 Processor & Windows 7 Home Premium-$198 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=15062991 Compaq 10.1" Netbook w/Intel Atom Processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HD, Windows 7 Starter $150 HP 15.6" G56-129WM Laptop PC with Intel Celeron 900 Processor & Windows 7 Home Premium $298 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=14978549 I would prefer to buy any of the cheaper 3 because im only working a part time job and dont have much money, but if its worth it i can get the hp one. I was thinking of the emachines one but i hear that brand sucks.. so anyone one that know about computer please let me know which one is the best one to get. And what does noteboook mean?> ah, so netbooks are those small ones. I dont want one of those. So cross out that one, i just want it to do homework on and surf the web

- Yes, avoid Emachines at all costs, it wil lbreak in a week! The best would be the Compaq in my opinion, it has a fairly small screen at only 10.1 inches but it is a terrific deal and has windows 7! the only reasoon you would get the HP is because of its larger screen, but other than that you would never notice a difference in terms of speed and performance. Hope this helps!!!
- The HP 15.6" G56-129WM is the best one. Notebooks and Laptops are pretty much the same. The Acer & Compaq is not a Notebook. It's a Netbook. A Netbook is a very small laptop. It has a lot of limitations because of it's small form factor. So there is no DVD drive on those. And they run on a very slow processor so it ain't as good. It's only good for portability and basic use. ------------ Pretty much, you have crossed out 3, and they are the cheaper ones. 2 of them are Netbooks that you don't want and the eMachine sucks. This just leaves the HP one, so get that. It's pretty good in my opinion.
- I'm also looking forward to black friday! I'm getting the Hp. Yes it costs about $100 more, but it's SO worth it! It plays dvds, has 3 GB RAM, and a whole 250 GB memory dude!!! And also a big l\plus is the 15.6" screen! The others are pretty slow, and 1GB ram is not good news. So put in the eXtra 100 bucks, and it's be so worth in the long run!! =) Good luck =)
- The HP is the best of those three.... As others have pointed out, the Acer and Compaq are not Notebooks they are Netbooks (meaning they are much more compact, but also not very powerful). Notice those two are running on an Intel Atom processor, the other two are running on Celeron. None of these are amazing deals...
- I have a few that I would recommend and they have great price tags: Acer AO532h-2223 10.1-Inch Matrix Silver Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life *1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 Processor *1GB DDR2 Memory *160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM); 802.11 b/g/n Wireless Certified *10.1" WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite LED Display, Intel GMA 3150 Graphics *Windows 7 Starter; Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life Finally, remember, it's a Netbook. Not a desktop or even a regular laptop. If you want to do any serious gaming, forget it, but it will run some games. There are netbook websites that are very helpful and some of them even have game recommendations for netbooks.
