i have a gateway laptop and cant figure out how to use sd card?

I have a gateway m series laptop with a big port on the side of it that says sd/mmc/ms/xd. a little black piece pops out with varioue slots in it. where do i put a standard sd card in order to read it?

1. A SD card reader slot will be just about the same size as the SD memory card. Put the SD card into slot, I am assuming you are wanting to get pictures or files off the SD card and copy to your lap top, the system will show to recognize the new hardware, then go to my computer and right click the card shown under new hardware and click open to see the files, then right click want you want to open and again right click the file and click save as and choose where you want it saved such as my documents or my pictures etc. Would suggest you download the user guide for the lap top by model number from Gateway support for full details on using memory cards, formatting memory cards and more.
