I want to recycle and resell used computers and computer parts. Are there any special laws I should know about regarding "e-waste"? Are there any legal liabilities associated with identity theft when reselling hard drives and other parts? Thanks for your responses, and have a great day.

1. Destroy any hard drives that come in and put in small cheap ones. It would probably save you money compared to wiping them.
2. No, just put them on ebay and be honest about their condition or your feedback profile will suffer.
3. Some parts are hazardous materials and have special disposal problems. Each state has guidelines for disposal. It would probably be better for you to work for Dell and their program of picking up old computers and parts from every state they do yearly. There are federal guidelines as well. It's all a major pain .
