Black Screen on my Gateway M-1624 Laptop?

I have a Gateway M-Series Laptop, that worked great up till one day I powerd it up and had no video. I'm certain I hear the insides working when booted up, but no video. I was thinking maybe it was the LCD Inverter, but not sure. I hooked up a regular Monitor to it, but nor did that work. So, I'm wondering if it could still be the Inverter or what would be other ideas. Thanks.

1. Sounds to me like its your video card, you will probably need to replace your video card! Go to Geek Squad or your local computer tech to get it fixed! As laptops are a lot more difficult to work on than a desktop! Some places will give a free diagnostics even, try searching around!
