What can I do to find the trouble as to why my speakers are not working on my HP computer? The internal speaker?
in the tower is the only one working, but it is not loud enough for me above the room noise. I have tried to bring them in by clicking on the 'volume' and all it does is adjust that internal sound reproducer. Maybe a certain part needs replacing, or a certain procedure is overlooked.

- i had problems with line out ports when i installed 7 for the first time, because of sound driver. with older version of that driver it worked normal. find what driver you need for audio from device manger and download the driver from motherboard's(HP?) site ,update your driver as to me you have driver problems
- Try connecting a headset/ear buds to the speaker out jack. If you get audio the issue is with your external speakers. If not: Open Control panel Open Sound and Audio Devices Volume Tab, Verify Speaker Settings, Advanced Verify that your speakers are selected, and are Not Muted Verify the speakers are connected to the Speaker Out Jack Verify that the speaker power is On Verify that the speaker volume is turned up to approx halfway Good Luck
