How can i tell the motherboard type in my HP Pavilion dv6448se Notebook PC?
I have a HP Pavilion dv6448se Notebook PC and i want to format it and get rid of everything vista and start fresh by installing windows 7 black edition or winxp ultimate by johnny. i will need to get the proper drivers but the HP site doesnt tell me the windows 7 drivers or the model or part number of the motherboard inside my computer. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! thank you. can i ask you where you were able to find those details? also does it matter if my specific model is a special edition and not a standard dv6000 series? i need to verify that there are drivers available for the OS i choose so that i know it will be compatible. the version i will be installing will not have drivers, so i plan to download them ahead of time to save headache. am i way off with this thought? if you have any other expertise to share, please do...

- HP 443775-001 PAVILLION DV6000 NVIDIA NF-G6150-N-A2 SOCKET-AM2 AMD ATHLON Why do you need drivers to install windows?
- Windows 7 is quite good at having all of the drivers you need for Vista era computers. Once you are online, you will be able to get most anything else through Windows Update. Your computer uses a Broadcomm wireless adapter, and a Nvidia chipset (probably for wired networking as well). These should work fine with the included Windows 7 drivers. If anything is not working after installing, try the Vista driver for that device from HP. The link below is for 64 bit Vista, but you can choose the 32 bit at the top and click next if you are not using 64 bit Windows 7. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3439478
- You can find out details of your motherboard by running Belarc advisor. It`s very likely though if the drivers are not available on HP support, that there are no Windows 7 drivers available for your model.
