Are Gateway laptops good?

Recently i saw a advertisment from a retailer in the local newspaper for laptops and i came across this: Gateway NV57H06g-2634G64Mn Notebook Intel Core i7-2630QM up to 2.90GHz 4GB RAM 640GB HDD 1GB Nvivdia GT540M Windows 7 Home Premium The price went down from Singapore Dollars $1498 to $1299 to $888 It is quite cheap for an i7 laptop but after reading reviews and feedback from my friends i'm quite skeptical about Gateway laptop. So is it durable?? because if i get this laptop i might play games like Devil May Cry 4 or NFS which i scared might cause some overheating to the laptop (after reading reviews that Gateway laptops overheat and spoil easily)

1. Get a mac And if you really want a powerful fast i7 get the MacBook pro
2. They offer good preformance at a low price, but does not come with some of the benefits that come from buying from a company such as ASUS. I have a gateway, And I constantly play games on it and it hasn't over heated yet; if you take care of your laptop, you shouldn't worry.
3. I have a Gateway and i think it's great! Mine does overheat, but that's usually because I leave in on my lap, on the couch, or my bed (therefore it can't ventilate properly). Place it on a hard surface such as a table or laptop rest and it shouldn't overheat. Also, that's a good price compared to what I paid for with mine, I'd get it before it's gone :)
