Gateway Parts

How much should I sell my nonworking laptop for on craigslist?

I'm selling my broken laptop on craigslist for parts...below is my ad. I'm saying "open to your best offer", but I was wondering if someone could give me a ballpark of what I should be looking for. I don't want to sell it for $20 if it's worth $75 or $100 (or more), but I also don't want to reject an offer because I have no idea if it's too low or not. What would you pay for this? Thanks! For sale is a nonworking Gateway MT6711 Laptop The motherboard is fried….the computer guy I took it to actually showed me where a tiny little section is charred..which explains why I smelled something burning right before it shut off on me. He said for what it would cost to replace it, I may as well get a new computer and sell this for parts, so that’s what I’m doing. I’m including the original box, it’s got all the specs on the side (pictured below). Hard drive has been removed. open to your best offer.

  1. take the money and run. I see new ones in the sunday paper for as little as 250 dollars with a ton of good stuff inside
  2. Sorry to say, but a non working laptop with a fried motherboard is worth about $25.
  3. Good question. The missing hard drive drops the value a bunch. But since you can't wipe it I an understand why you removed it. Since the LCD screen is good I'd sell it for $43 firm. That's what a tech will pay for it because the people are paying $32 plus shipping on ebay for the screen assembly. P.s. There wasn't any complete MT6711 on ebay for sale.
  4. No motherboard or HDD means it can only have memory, graphics and possibly an audio card, all of which are used aparently to the point where you killed your motherboard. The other hardware cant be doing very well if your motherboard caught on fire. Be thankful your house isnt burnt wood and put your laptop in a glass box and display it proudly with a plaque that reads, "I set this PC on fire with no open flame."
