Gateway Parts

Can you actually build a go kart out of plumbing hardware and car/computer parts?

I was making game graphics and fixing computers, until an idea of one hit me smack-dab in the head! Can I actually do that? I have detailed ideas of the frame done by using iron pipes and their shapes/corners, the battery going into the front and a fully-made-from-scratch engine goes in the trunk for now, and the bumper being used as a replaceable attachment last.

  1. you would need some sort on propoltion device. But for the frame and wires that sounds fine
  2. With loads of duct tape and welding, yes. note: considering you have copper plumbing parts...
  3. I'm sorry, I can't because I have better sense than that. I hope you do too.
  4. You're in over your head. You might succeed, but you'd put in more effort than what you would get would be worth. Those kart frames are built by specialty shops for a reason.
  5. You could make one for fun that way, but it would be a lot heavier than most others. Look up suppliers of go-kart kits and supplies on the Internet, and then you will have more of an idea of what you will want and need to do. In ancient times, go-karts were homne built, with a lawn mower engine for power and you used your feet for brakes. Racing karts can have two high performance motorcycle engines on them and four wheel disk brakes..
